As you might suspect, the title has nothing to do with Mothers. However, it was Mother's Day yesterday, so in celebration of my Mother and all other Mothers everywhere, I thought, "Hey, it's Sunday, so there's no excuse needed to get the Shelby out for some sunshine, fresh air, and a drive...with a few photos."
Some of these photos were taken high up in the hills of Palos Verdes Estates, and some were shot just above the cliffs in PVE. In either case, it was a Chamber-Of-Commerce kinda day!
So, after a stop for coffee in Lunada Bay, I headed out on Palos Verdes Drive South to the twisties on Palos Verdes Drive East. On the way, I was greeted by a few gentle hooligans in a Ferrari, Porsche, and a Lamborghini.
We chased one another (amid much slower traffic) up through Rancho Palos Verdes. When we stopped for a traffic light, the Ferrari guy leaned over to say, "I thought you were Carroll Shelby!" I told him no, but my Carroll Shelby Stetson hat may have given him a clue.
Before heading home for the day, we got a full tank of high-test in anticipation of next weekend's Shelby Tribute Show in Gardena, California.
