On Sunday, January 10th, we attended a special Shelby Cruise-In at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, California to celebrate the life (and birthday!) of Carroll Shelby.
The day started out with just a bit of dampness on the streets, but cleared by the time we arrived at the Museum.
Our cruise-in group consisted of three genuine Cobras, a Daytona Cobra Coupe replica (my #7), and a heavily modified Mustang coupe. In the photo above, the light blue Cobra to the left and the white Cobra are original early Cobras, the very dark blue Cobra is a CSX4000. The Mustang coupe (#28) is pictured below.
Our drive group did the best we could to disturb the peace and startle drivers and onlookers all the way from Redondo Beach to the Petersen Museum!
As you can see, all the Shelby Guyz turned out in droves!
...and the variety of Shelby automobiles was incredible—from very early Cobras...
...to many late model Shelbys, Ford GTs & Cobras...
Lastly, here's a closer look at the immediately iconic facade on the new face of the Petersen Museum...
