This is a terrific (and large!) Mustang & Ford Car Show. Previously known as Mustangs at the Queen Mary, Ponies at the Pike attracts roughly 400 cars and is now in its 19th consecutive year!
The venue is in the heart of the Long Beach Marina, close to the LB Aquarium of the Pacific, and the location of the LB Grand Prix. And now, for the second year, it's 'across-the-bay' from the Queen Mary.
The show is produced by an army of volunteers from the Beach Cities Mustang Club and, boy do they know how to put on a BIG car show! No one waits for more than five minutes to get parked. Your spot is marked with your name and vehicle beforehand, so it's easy in...and easy exit.
The show spans all years and types of Mustangs, from very early examples to the latest models. There's a variety of vendors in attendance, and, before the show ends at 4PM, Jon Schultz, Master of Ceremonies, somehow manages to hand out about 275 show awards, given the variety of classes and winners!
This year, Shelby G.T. 350 #2060 left with a 1st place in its category.
