Two opportunities for some Daytona & Shelby exercise over this weekend.
Yesterday, Saturday, May 2nd was the 10th Annual Edelbrock Car Show
...and what a show it was!
Well organized and executed, we had a terrific great turnout with plenty of exceptionally nice rides. I don't know the overall car count, but I'd estimate it to be somewhat over 500 cars. The weather was perfect, sunny and Southern California breezy, around 75 degrees all day!
In addition, the Edelbrock Show provided live band entertainment, a DJ going all day, a food court (with terrific food!), even a beer & wine garden. Of course, the Edelbrock folks put on a fine array of Edelbrock products. Vic's garage was open for tours, too!
And Edelbrock sponsored a competition for the "hot rodders of tomorrow" where small groups of competitors from several SoCal local schools each competed to teardown and reassembe small-block Chevy engines.
The Edelbrock Car Show event also raised $10,000 for a local Torrance charity!
So THAT was the SHOW part on Saturday...now the GO part:
On Sunday, after Saturday's Edelbrock Show, the Shelby needed some fresh air, a few photos, sunshine, and some redline verification.
So now, to get ready for the third annual Carroll Shelby Tribute in Gardena, California in two weeks, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Shelby G.T. 350!
